CARNARVON GORGE 14.8.14.

We booked into Takarakka Resort campground and set up in the afternoon.
Lots of busy hands had picked up the needles and wool available for any interested knitter on the deck at the office and produced the colourful wrapping on the trees. It looked beautiful.
We found Carnarvon Gorge much as it had been on our last visit about twelve years ago, except that the first part of the gorge track had been destroyed by flood water and then rebuilt on higher ground. That meant the track was not along the creek and as a result, it was not as pretty.
On the first day we walked a short distance along the main track and then along the nature walk before dark.
On the second day we tackled the long walk out to the Cathedral Gorge in overcast weather which worsened as the day wore on. The walking was lovely in the cool morning weather and the plants beautiful.
We did about twelve creek crossings each way, mostly without mishap!
Glenn thought this burl looked lake a dugong and the one below reminded him of a turtle.
Raining now.... Gently at first. Then the raincoats were called into service!
Cathedral Gorge
Art gallery.
Pouring now!
The following day we had cranky knees due to the cold and wet of the day before, and it was pouring all day so there was no walking until the next day when we went to the Moss Garden .... A cool green beautiful oasis with a waterfall.
Loo with a view!
